Sunset Beach from Burrard Bridge, October 2025

Sunset Beach is familiar ground. Our family knows it well, and we walk its length almost daily, from the southern edge near the bridge at the bottom of this image, to the Inukshuk pictured at the northern peninsula, where English Bay Beach begins.

I know this area so well that it's difficult for me to make an interesting photo of it from my typical perspective; I'm grateful that Burrard Bridge is there to help with that. From up here, we can see more clearly this beach for what it is—an everyday playground, resting at the feet of tens of thousands of West End residents, stacked above in a forest of towers.
